How Does The PS3 Loud Fan or Overheating Repair Option Work?
Once our repairers get your PS3 on their desk, they will test it out to diagnose the fault.
The PS3 is then stripped all the way down. We use air lines and a dust extraction bench to clear out all the dust that has built up inside the PS3, including in the PS3. We also clean up the old crusty thermal paste from the APU and heatsink and top up with fresh top of the range thermal paste.
We also clean out the disk drive if dust has got inside that too - they are usually ok though.
Once the service is complete, we test the PS3 out to make sure it isn't overheating.
